Our History

Whether it's meetings, relaxation or enjoyment, incentive events, anniversaries or weddings - our guests get everything from a single source with us. The VILA VITA group has been steadily growing since the year 2000 and today offers a variety of first-class culinary experiences and venues in Marburg and the surrounding area.

2000

Hotel Rosenpark

The Hotel Rosenpark was opened in the year 2000 and extensively renovated in 2016. Since then, it has impressed with contemporary interiors and a high standard of service. The 196 rooms are elegantly and comfortably designed, while the 1,000 square meter wellness area offers relaxation at the highest level. Two first-class restaurants and an exquisite bar complete the experience.

Café Rosenpark

The Viennese café was the model for Café Rosenpark during its construction and influenced the style and interior of the house. The in-house patisserie contributed its sweet chocolatier and praline specialties with its manufactory. The café has since closed, and in its place, the Asian-Fusion restaurant MIZU now invites guests with an innovative culinary concept (see 2023).

Since 2011, the Congress Center Marburg has provided the perfect setting for conferences, meetings, seminars, video conferences, and events for up to 400 people. The modern building with futuristic design sets architectural accents and offers excellent gastronomy.

VILA VITA Café Lahnberge

In the heart of the medical education center, the VILA VITA Café Lahnberge opened its doors in autumn 2011, offering a cozy atmosphere with delicious coffee specialties and homemade cakes for many years. The café has since closed.

2012

Waldschlösschen

The restaurant's history began about 100 years ago. Even then, the charming half-timbered house was a meeting point for lovers of good cuisine. It is said that the homemade vegetable soup was the insider tip. Today, our chef Torben Jansen and his team pamper guests in the open show kitchen with sophisticated, seasonal dishes. The kitchen team works with high-quality ingredients, some of which are sourced from our own agricultural production.

Hofgut Dagobertshausen

Embedded in the nature of the Upper Hessian mountain landscape, Hofgut Dagobertshausen was taken over by the VILA VITA group in 2012. With event barns, guest house, agricultural production, farm shop, the distillery "Gutsgeist", the brewery "Braufrisch", and an equestrian facility, the estate is a versatile place for enjoyment and events.

Aroma Bistro & Ice Bar

Centrally located in the Marburg train station district, AROMA Bistro and Ice Bar combines both in one. The art of Italian ice cream making meets modern ice cream creations here. At the same time, the bistro offers a weekly changing menu featuring fish, meat, salads, and soups for both large and small appetites. The quality is now well-known beyond the borders of the city of Marburg. The gourmet magazine "Der Feinschmecker" named Aroma Bistro & Ice Bar one of the TOP 15 ice cream cafés in Germany, and the Varta Guide counts Aroma among Germany's "Best 20 Ice Cream Parlors".

Marburger Esszimmer

The Marburger Esszimmer: In 2012, the Marburger Esszimmer opened and quickly became a popular gastronomic address. The concept was as simple as it was demanding: everyone should find themselves in the dishes and the service. After a two-year break, the restaurant reopened in 2023 under the leadership of top chef Denis Feix and his wife, sommelier Kathrin Feix, with a new concept and fresh design (see 2023). However, the restaurant is currently closed.

2013

Aroma Lahn Beach

Directly below the Elisabeth Bridge, Aroma Lahn Beach opened in Marburg in May 2013. Since then, a holiday feeling has emerged on the banks of the Lahn: The beach bar with real sand, cozy cushions, and a US school bus where food and drinks are sold, welcomes young and old in the summer months.

2017

AROMA Bistro & Deli

In June 2017, the AROMA ice cream manufactory and the AROMA Bistro & Deli opened in the metropolis of Frankfurt. Just 600 meters from the main train station and with a view of the Main, the new locations brought original Italian ice cream creations and delicious dishes for both small and large appetites to the train station district. Both gastronomies have since closed.

2023

Marburger Esszimmer by Denis Feix

In 2023, top chef Denis Feix, together with his wife, sommelier Kathrin Feix, took over the management of the Marburger Esszimmer, which reopened after a two-year hiatus with a new concept and new look. The focus: fresh and regional products from our own cultivation. Denis Feix's goal was to rediscover the lost taste of old vegetable and herb varieties. All this with a great love for the products and far from mass production. Selected, sustainably or organically produced wines complemented the overall concept. The restaurant is currently closed.

MIZU – Asian Fusion in Marburg

In March 2024, the VILA VITA group opened the Asian Fusion Restaurant MIZU in the former "Café Rosenpark". The concept combines the cuisines of Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, and China into a "Best of Asia". Under the leadership of top chef Kang Dai Song, authentic flavors and modern interpretations are served. The focus is on the "sharing concept", inspired by the Japanese "Izakaya", with many small dishes to share. The restaurant offers an urban, cozy atmosphere with CO2-reducing technology – a place for high-quality, vibrant Asian cuisine.
